The internet is a very cool thing but one thing it can't provide is intonation, body language, or a wink... and sometimes things "said" can be misconstrued (or not!).

This is probably the best point made here.
We are all good at some phase of upholstery, and we all have some interesting opinions. But none of us are professional writers. Sometimes, our intended meaning is lost on the reader.
Noname: If you're still here, from some of your early posts, you seemed bitter about a lot of things.  You sometimes come off as very combattive.
From the get-go, you said that you weren't going to give out your real name and location, because you weren't sure who to trust.

Just remember, you catch a lot more flies with honey.

Yes, Pull out the Trio job you did on the Fountain Boat.  Any of the toppings we sell and I should be able to get you in if you used any of the glass on a job. O'Sea Regalite, Strata or Crystal Clear.

Hey Gang, Thanks for all the great suggestions. I suggested a nice cloth bottom to the customer but he really wants the cushion to be reversible with faux leather on all sides. I may just try the small grommets under the buttons.
I think with dense foam and small grommets you will be fine.  Another thing you could suggest ifs perforated vinyl that would solve all your issues or maybe perf on all 4 sides.

Come on guys there is room for everyone.  That is the thing about  internet forums everyone has their own opinion on things and not everyone is going to agree.
Russ you know what works for you and your environment and noname you have your ideas as well...
Agree to disagree and everyone is happy.

Somebody just posted that one of the best workers he ever had was a seamstress fresh from college.  Who is not exactly a professional "upholsterer". Now after we have a seamstress we can do 2 things - 1. Hire an upholsterer who will finish everything else, and will stay away from sewing - honestly guys, professional seamstress is few times faster that an upholsterer who does everything, and you can not be perfect in everything, that said, a professional upholsterer is not really that fast in anything that he does, since he has to do it all, and is not specialized in any particular operation. So we can expect that after fast sewing there will be a delay in upholstery part, and thus we are going to pay high dollar for highly professional upholsterer and mediocre speed. Or 2. We can break all our operations in bunch of similar tasks and get fresh untrained labor for each task. It will be easy to teach just one task plus this worker will not leave you since he do not know the whole process. Also unqualified labor can be paid very little at training and will require almost twice less pay then one of us professional dudes dreams of getting. I just thought of that and I know this is how it is done on regular furniture factories, but I just did not apply it to my business before.

Good comment and thanks for your positive contributions, this is what participants appreciate, not a side show.

Slide show?

I used "side show" as an anology of different philosophies that drew the heat, on running a business.

The difference a little "l" can make.

Top drawer! Even the wierd looking ones. You really like the inlaid windows eh? We build ours with pieces and seams. Why do you like that way? Aside from the groovy curvy corners I mean.

But really amazes me is how symetrical they all are when you build the whole pattern. (I love the pattern picture BTW) I had to make a whole pattern on a dodger recently (the first guy installed it drunk and the snaps were all over the map) it took me forever to get the lines right. Do you draw good lines on one side and trace it on the table?
